Branding Case Study

As a company that dabbles in product Distribution and Marketing, we identified an opportunity to re-package Yura Beer, which is currently sold in beer Kegs. We wanted to pitch for a dealership of the beer so that we can repackage it and sell it in smaller quantities. The beer already had a refreshing taste and great quality. But to be able to attract a younger, we needed to package the beer in more appealing bottles, and give it a more compelling, fresh, and new brand identity.

Objective:

Adris Digital Africa was to redesign Yura Beer's packaging and label design to create a more modern, eye-catching look that would appeal to younger consumers, who are the biggest beer markets.

Process:

Adris Digital Africa began the design process by doing market surveys and establishing modern trends in package designing especially in the beverage industries. We did a series of comprehensive studies around the same and reached a framework of ideas that informed the design direction.

We were shooting for something that looked classy, yet familiar. Except fresh and new looking. A bottle that said, “I belong in your hands.” So the bottle had to be slightly slender than all those in the Ugandan market.

The team then created three distinct label designs for Yura Lyte, Yura Gold, and Yura Strong, each with its own unique color scheme and typography.

To tie the labels together, Adris Digital Africa created a fresh new logo for Yura Beer featuring a tiger element, symbolizing strength and power, which was incorporated into all three label designs. The Yura Lyte label featured a green and silver color scheme, while Yura Gold had gold and silver, and Yura Strong had maroon and silver.

Results:

Once the designs were finalized, Adris Digital Africa presented them to the Yura Beer team, who were thrilled with the results. The client appreciated the modern, eye-catching design that still maintained the traditional look and feel of the brand.
